Handmade CITRUS Wooden Crates:
Our authentic handmade crates are made to scale.  They are available in 3 different sizes to suit your CITRUS gift requirements. Read more about the story of these wooden crates below.

CITRUS Canvas Tote Bags:
Our roomy canvas totes are printed with bold, colourful graphics. A practical way to gift our goodies and then re-use the tote bag for your weekly shopping.

Canvas Bags:
These hand-sewn, natural canvas bags are understated and sturdy. The bags can be sold along with a colourful custom silk decoration made for us by the hands at Mentis-Antonopoulos Spinning Mill (NHMA), part of the Benaki Museum. It is the only remaining factory in Greece that still produces ribbons, braids, tassels and fringes (‘passementerie’) using traditional methods.

Sackcloth Pouches:
Our simple CITRUS pouches come in a variety of sizes, with or without a natural cotton lining. A simple and easy way to offer a selection of our delicacies to a favourite friend.

Packing CITRUS: Wooden Crates

We pack our precious CITRUS delicacies in faithful reproductions of the original wooden crates, or ‘kasakia’.  These crates were typically made of quality beech from the trading city of Trieste and were used to transport citrus fruit on trade routes up until the 1940s.

Each mandarin was individually wrapped in tissue paper from Naples, printed with the individual producer’s stamp.  The prized fruit was arranged according to size and protected with a lining or ‘hartoma’.

The quality and quantity of citrus in each crate were stenciled on the box with the producer’s name and port of destination.
